I have a VS111 Stato with the holden by design 185ikw motor. This has cold intake, headers, chip. Basicly all add stuff. But the internals are the same as the 165ikw motor as I have the mico fisch. So in the early VT S1 they have the 195ikw motor whats changed? Just the chip? or some internals? Anyone know.

The 195i was the sequential engine in the VT and VS series 3. They also had the full twin exhaust system and a few little minor external things, but no internal mods.

Just to clarify Mick's response. The Roller cam sequential engine was rated at 179kW, in the VT and introduced early in the VSIII ute model (at the same time as the VT release I think). The 195i is the HSV version, with the same mods as the 180kW and late

So the 195ikw had roller cam and lifters? And i do have the twin exhaust as well. Now when you mean sequential injection is that all 8 indvidual injectors or 2 banks of four trigered?

Don't know too much about the sequential injection, but I know they also had the thermo fan to gain a kW or 2. Not all series IIIs had the 179kW standard/195kW option, the early ones had the 168kW/185kW and in March 1999 they brought out the updated engin

The 179/195 both had a roller cam and lifters. As far as I know only the VT and about the last 3/4 of the VSIII utes had the roller cam engine. I think (but will stand corrected) that the VSIII Statesman disappeared before the roller cam engine was releas

Hi Guys.

Just to confirm a few dates.

The 179 kw sequential injection motor was the standard 5.0 V8 in all VT series I. The 5.0/195i & 5.7/220i were the HSV & HBD options. The 179 kw motor appeared in VS series III utes & Statesmans in Nov 1998. The

Hi all i have just purchased a 1999 HSV XU8 build no. 138. How many other people out there own one. i also have a few questions about it. It is a 195i holden motor and it says it has roller rockers but they dont look like rollers through the filler hole.

It has a roller cam. not rockers.
Maybe just the LSD making the noise. no real problem.
The only way to realy test your fuel economy is on the highway. something like 10L/100. if not start looking at the oxygen sensors.
