I have a VN HSV V8. Compared with other v8s my car seems quite noisy. There is a consistent whirring/hissing(sort of) sound that one can hear in the cabin, and is very noticeable outside the car. Obviously at the front. I want to get rid of this sound, is there anything I should check at the front? I also feel there is a hole in the exhaust, is there a fail safe way to know whether there is a hole in the exhaust?

Hi Guys.

A common noise complaint on VN/VT V8s is the noise caused by the idle control motor at idle, especially cold. You can hear it coming from the air cleaner.

If the throttle body is removed & thoroughly cleaned & the base idle reset, using a s

has it got the original air filter box or has someone fitted a "Pod filter"?
the pod filters aloww the intake noise to escape more, not to mention decrease power output due to engine heat.
