hey every 1

im going to up grade me suspention
on my 1 tonner need better handling
back going to be droped a bit but my main
consurn is wat type of setup is good for my front end
witch will be lowered to even the car out as well.
im after not a cheap or expencive set up something in between
just so it dont feel like ur driving a boat.
any sajestions

OK ! Remember you must watch how much you drop it, and how wide ur tyres are. There is a compromise. How are ur front suspension rubbers ? There's about $400 in parts there for starters. Remember its a ute, not an L34 Torana. I would recommend u chat to P

an rts chassis would be a good start if you have non rts hq/j (?) a couple of 2" drop spidles ($6-700?) from crs will lower it without changing any steering/bounce geometry, may want HD springs though.
straight lowered springs shouldn't cost much more th

For HQ sedans....(same could apply to utes)
Changeover control arms from Pedders (simpler than pressing your own rubbers in & out).
Nolethane bushings in the upper control arms only. Original rubbber bushings in lower arms....nolethane makes the ride to

G'day All,
While on that subject, is it easy to put rear sway bars on a 1 Tonner? I was thinking of doing it to mine and saw this topic so I thought I would chip in. In fact I dont think the HX has them on the front either are they easy to fit as well?

My HZ tonner has the fully rebuilt factory RTS setup and it handles fantastic however we had to remove the factory rear sway bar to fit the gas tank but i honestly don't think it has made much difference.I've had several people comment on the way it handl

Before you start spending any money on it get someone that knows where to look have a look for the 'factory' cracks in HQ-WB chassis (1-tonner especially). If it's not cracked fit the WB strengthening bars - these minimise cracking. If it's mildly cracked

Have a look on the net for Tubular Suspension Systems . The guy to talk to is James Cloke . They build tubular A arms with needle roller bearings (no bushes). My mate bought a set for his HQ tonner , lowered to your spec and no more squeaky front end . Wh

I would be interested to see how these needle roller front arms work. Being a fitter by trade I know that for every floating bearing ( being the neddle bearing ) you have to have a fixed bearing, otherwise the upper and lower arms will have a certain amou

Are these tubular parts legal ? I think not in all states.
If you fit a HZ or WB chassis for the RTS you will get a far better ride and steering but you will have to upgrade to the emissions control for the chassis which will kill your performance and ec
