Hello Everyone,I have a 186 holden motor with a 3 speed mated to it but I wish to change it over to a 4 speed what 4 speed is the best to use, the motor is going in a 71 HQ ute. Using a 4 speed can I use the clutch, pressure plate and parts from the 3 speed as I like to keep the costs down. The heavest load would be me Bullterrier. Cheerio Owen.

owen,if you use the aussie 4 speed you will only need gearbox and shifter and a hole in the floor...clutch pressure plate bellhousing etc etc etc is all the same....
going to church makes you no more a christian than standing in a garage makes you a car...

With an EH (converting from a crash box to an Aussie 4 speed), apart from the manual tunnel "modification", would I need a different tailshaft, bellhousing, crossmember etc., and how would the clutch hold up?. I know these are required for a Toyota Celica

Yes to all of the mods. To get a better clutch on a red you can do two things. Either fit a 1-tonner clutch, or change the flywheel to a blue motor one and use a blue/black motor clutch. These have a bigger clutch plate.

Owen, if you would like to use

Wish you'd have known I had it. You could have had this conversion complete with a complete 202 for $550.
