Just went down to alltools in tullamarine (victoria) to buy a handsfree welding helmet and had the best of luck.
They have a 20-60% sale on everything with 20%off all welding gear.
Got the helmet for $17 and a boc argon reg for %69 down from %89 .

I also have the cig one. if you find the wire sticking and spattering try screwing the speed up a bit, as the cig unit increases the power as you increase the speed. so you have to either weld faster or maintain the s

forgot to add I was under the impression the gas flow was automatically controlled. or is that just tht it only flows when trigger pressed?
And you can get those small bottles from Glenfords for abaout $40.

i woud buy an automatic helmet, makes it so much easier, and for steel, i think with the smaller welders, just as good a job without the gas? and cheaper as well
