I also have a cig mig welder im currently running a spare oxy reg on mine if you are going to be welding alloys you will need argon gas instead of the argoshield light that you will use for most other materials you will need a nylon liner for your mig gun

All i can say about the welding books is that look over them before you buy.most welding books give you ways to weave and other bad habbits,If your wire comes out in spurts, you might not have enough wire speed.but if you molting pool seems to small or too

Good unit if you know what flow rate you want as I said in my last post the cheap BOC unit has a gadge for dummies ( no pun intended ) which tells you what flow rate you need with what work you are doing. To hard to explain but if you go in and have a loo

If you don't use your mig welder too often or too much it is way more cost effective to buy the disposable cylinders because what you save on cylinder rental a year alone pays for 3 or four disposable cylinders.

You can pick up the disposable bottles from a lot of the good tool shops that sell welders. You also see them around the swap meets occasionally too.

i also use gasless wire a bit, although its not really gasless it has the gas impregnated into the wire, and it seems to work fine. i did the tafe course and it was very good (its actually a module of their engineering certificate which is to your credit
