G'day all,

1. I have a standard strommie on my 202 and it has a sheet metal heat shield between the carby andd manifold, I bought some new gaskets for it and they came with a big thick (about 4-5mm)gasket which the guy said was an insulator and that the steel plate was not necessaey, could someone please tell me what is going on here, can I use both or one or the other and if so which one?
2. The reason I wanted to change was I need to change my Jets because I had my dizzy regraphed and its still pinging a little bit, can anyone suggest what size to go to, it has a standard 330 in at the moment, and I have a 340 and a 360, is there a real lot of difference between the 330 and 340 or should I just try the 360? or do you think that is too much, and will make it run too rich? any advice appreciated

Russ

the heat sheild helps with fuel evapouration from manifold heat , the thick gasket can help with heat transfer through the metal also , I would use both myself.

Hi Russ.

Both the thick gasket & the heat shield are fitted at the factory & are both necessary. In order of assembly, thin gasket on the manifold first, then the shield, then the thick gasket & the carby last.

In answer to the jet query, try the 36
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0
