G'day all, 1. I have a standard strommie on my 202 and it has a sheet metal heat shield between the carby andd manifold, I bought some new gaskets for it and they came with a big thick (about 4-5mm)gasket which the guy said was an insulator and that the steel plate was not necessaey, could someone please tell me what is going on here, can I use both or one or the other and if so which one? 2. The reason I wanted to change was I need to change my Jets because I had my dizzy regraphed and its still pinging a little bit, can anyone suggest what size to go to, it has a standard 330 in at the moment, and I have a 340 and a 360, is there a real lot of difference between the 330 and 340 or should I just try the 360? or do you think that is too much, and will make it run too rich? any advice appreciated Russ Edited by user Sunday, 3 July 2005 12:18:27 AM(UTC)

the heat sheild helps with fuel evapouration from manifold heat , the thick gasket can help with heat transfer through the metal also , I would use both myself.

Hi Russ.
Both the thick gasket & the heat shield are fitted at the factory & are both necessary. In order of assembly, thin gasket on the manifold first, then the shield, then the thick gasket & the carby last.
In answer to the jet query, try the 36 |
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0 |
