G'day guys, Can anyone give me the good oil, on mechanical injection for a 253. I am looking at getting one for my ol tunna. They guy tried to explain what type etc it was over the phone, It sounds like there is two injectors mounted into the top of a carb. They carb he describe sounded like a holly 450, but he was a bit vague. Said there is a control module, that mounts under the dash, but he has no idea what it looks like. I have seen similar before, but am wondering if this set up would be better than the well tuned rottie Quad that is already on there. Any info or advise would be sweet Thanks
Scott

Hi Scott.
This is not mechanical injection it's electronic injection.
Mechanical injection is not a practical or economical add-on for the street.
What you are referring to here is a throttle body EFI system. It features a throttle body with 2 or |

Hi Tunna Holley also made a unit like Dr Terry mentioned but in stead of using a laptop you had a control box with 2 or 3 knobs that you adjusted to get things running right. It was basicly a glorified carby. I think i saw it in a street machine mag or |

Hi Scott.
I've not had any hands-on experience with the Pro-Jection set-up in particular, but I'm sure, tuned properly it should return better mileage than the Q-Jet. The biggest difference between the 2 would be the dollars, I think.

Hi Scott. For $150 i guess you cant really go wrong.Probely cost more to rebuild a carby . Worse comes to worse and you find it aint worth **** you can most likely get your money back plus more on ebay. Best of Luck and let us know how it all pans out. |
