250 crossflow into xy , how hard?

Rank: Guest Groups: Guests Joined: 2/09/2015(UTC) Posts: 43,977 Was thanked: 5 time(s) in 5 post(s)		I have an old XY 250 with a damaged head that causes a bad exhaust leak preventing re-registration.To replace or repair the head is much more expensive than replacing the entire engine taking into account gaskets and machining.How much adaptation is required to drop in a 250 cross-flow?Also which is better alloy or iron head cross-flow?

The best engine to use would probably be the late XF unleaded one then you don't have to worry about fuel additives. I think that the alloy head crossflow
