G'day All,
I was thinking of putting a VK injected motor (202) into the tonner,( I know where I can get one in good cond. if I really want it) and would like to know what the best way to go about that would be? e.g. put the head and injection onto the existing red motor, or transplant the whole engine, and if so is it easy to get the computer and sensors etc wired up? Also will it bolt up to my 4 speed ? is this too much trouble for no great benefit or is it worth the time and effort, and are the injected motors more fuel efficient and how much? any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Russ

Gday mate, The black motor head will go on to your red motor, but will need mods. I say it should bolt up to your 4-speed. There is a site made by a bloke name Sammy, he has done a competle gide on the mod.
Cheers

I did this conversion its fairly easy if you use patience. But make sure you get the engine part of the wiring harness, the fuel pump relay and socket, and the computer.
Take 40 thou off the head as the vK is about 8.8 : 1 while the older motors were ove

Sammy's page is great. The advantage of using the VK head on an older block is you will only have to comply with any pollution requirements of the block, thus eliminating the need for EGR etc.

Mark Berner here in Tassie has also done this conversion into an HJ 1 tonner.
You can see Marks page on oldholden.com
