Hi Guys,
Im hoping you can help me decipher the ID plates on my HK

Body ID RHS:
BODY HK369A-18013B
TRIM 1258-18F
PAINT 568-3912
INSERT (blank)
TOP 568-10845

Long plate on top LHS:
80369KH121278

Firewall Stamping:
HK19345B

Engine #:
186p127880

It's a HK Kingswood sedan, original(?) off white paint with white roof, tan vinyl trim, 186 + powerglide coloumn shift. I thought at least some of these codes were supposed to match or is my car a bitsa, it certainly looks like it's unmodified!
The only code I can decipher is the Long Plate LHS as this info is in my HK shop manual. This may sound daft but I can't figure what year model it is 68 or 69, the dec 2004 club rego sticker has no model info other than 'holden sedan' and i have no old rego papers.
Going by the the vehicle serial/sequence number 21278 may mean it's a later 69 build?
My 1970 HT ute has an extra compliance plate attached which shows more date (5/70 build) info but the HK doesn't have this...

Thanks Guys.

80369KH121278 deciphers as

8: Holden
03: Kingswood (or Monaro) 6 cylinder
69: Sedan
K: HK
H1: Manufactured at Acacia Ridge (Brisbane)

The serial number 21278 means it was the 21,278th vehicle (not just HKs) built at Accacia ridge.

The A after HK369 means AUTO on an Acacia Ridge vehicle. The Dulon code after TOP is for Ermine white, meaning it had a white roof. Youve made a mistake with the paint code, if the body Dulon code of 568-3912 is correct as 1258 is not Kingston cream (it i

Ok. I will check at home again, but if the numbers are right then 1258 must be the paint code for a Kingston Cream body with Ermine white roof (yuk! what does the combo look like?). It looks like a 1969 or late 1968 build by the body number, but I'm not f

I have seen HK Kingswoods with that colour combo ie off white (almost light tan) and white roofs. They don't look that bad but are not exactly an eye catching combination.

I thought the top code was Ermine White (at least that's what my list says) but

Yep. Silly me. It all makes sense now.

Did we decide what colout the body was though? I only had a list of HK Monaro paint codes and it had 3912 as Kingston Creme and 10845 as Ermine White.

The TRIM code is the problem. Forget the PAINT code, this is simply a Dulon code. The Holden paint code is the beginning of the TRIM code, ie 1258. This must be the combination of Kingston cream body, and Ermine white roof. I don't have a list of these co

Late November 1968. You steering box and steering column should have codes on them (if original) with something like **L8 with the ** being the day of the month, L being november and 8 being 1968.
