Talk to a Sandblaster. They use Ilmenite, Rhyolite? and others and may be able to sell you some. You MUST be careful on flat surfaces though.

...and never sandblast both sides of the same panel, it will warp.
try plugging up any 'black' holes with rags or whatever or the sand may never come out again, at least until it rusts it's way through the metal

NEVER EVER use river/beach sand.. if you breath in the dust it causes a lung disease, similar to what the guys that where exposed to asbestos got.

Most sand blasters use "Garnet" in their blasters. get a bag of that and see how you go.

cheers

sandblast on an angle and definitely not straight at the part if its a panel, so ive been told.prevents pressure{denting}damage

I wouldnt sand blast any of your pannels. Take everything to an industrial paint stripper and get it caustic dipped. I found a place that hot dip galvanises stuff and they had a big bath and it was all alot cheaper than sandblasting. Yr panels will warp I

If you only run at 100 psi or so and don't get close to the work its ok, if the paint is loose/flaky it comes off easily and what doesn't come off easily remove by sanding.or just leave and primer over, if it's that stuck on it won't be a problem in futu

I once read in a Practical Classics magazine that baking soda works really well as it does not harm the metal at all. Apparently it sort of explodes on impact which removes the paint. I have not tried it yet but I do intend on trying it.
