Hello all, I have a 2001 AUII Fairlane Ghia V8 and under the current situation with petrol prices around $1.40/L am thinking of converting to gas. Does anyone know of any problems if I do this, will I lose much power, will it damage the engine. I also read somewhere that it affects the traction control.

I don't know for sure but based on other conversions I think the following would be true; 1. Run straight gas setup for optimum performance / efficiency. 2. Have computer remapped to match timing and combustion characteristics of gas. (you should not l Edited by user Sunday, 11 September 2005 11:29:12 PM(UTC)

Thanks for the info. The traction control bit was out of the manual, that why I was confused, I couldnt see the relationship either.

The traction control issue is actually true.
When traction is lost, TC works in various ways - killing timing (to reduce torque), cutting fuel (via some or all of the injectors), or even applying brakes on various wheels individually (using the ABS). |
