G'day All,
I am asking this for a mate who doesnt have a computer, he wants to put a VH Commodore Standard 2 barrel carby off a 202 blue motor, on his 202 red motor, and wants to know if it is an easy conversion, and if it will affect power and fuel economy to any marked degree? He said he saw a blue motor manifold and it has the throttle assembly bolted to the manifold, but a 2 barrel red motor conversion manifold which he has got has nowhere to bolt the throttle mechanism to,is this an easy problem for him to get around? any advice I can pass on will be greatly appreciated.Thanks. Russ.

P.S. for the benefit of my curiosity also what is the difference between a single barrel and a 2 barrel as far as performance etc, is concerned?

He is heaps better off fitting an S (2600S, 2850S or 186S) manifold and WW Stromberg carby. Greg at Classic Oz Wreck (watch ads above) should be able to help him out with bits.

Hi Russ,

The WW is the model of the 2 barrel Stromberg carby that Holden used on the red 6's and the 253's.

The varijet are not known for their economy or power :-( Additionally, the blue manifold won't fit the red head...

Cheers...Dave

Arent the mounting studs different between red and blue motors? I think the ports are all different too so the flow going into the head might be freaked out a bit. Just a sugestion, Im not 100% on that. Definately check that the ports are all the same siz
