I only just installed the power steering set I had laying in the shed this weekend on to a HQ 6cl. Seems to be working find but I keep getting a grundging noise when turning the steering wheel. I checked the fluid and it is right to the top and primed the pump when I installed it. Just like to know is the grundging noise from the power box or from the pump. If the noise is coming from the pump can it be serviced as it looks like a sealed unit? If the power box needs to be services can anyone give me an idea of what the cost would be.
If I agreed with you we`d both be wrong.

Sounds like you may still have air in the system.
Jack the car up until the front wheels are clear of the ground, and the vehicle is stable.
Start the engine, then turn the steering whel from lock to lock a few times to rid the system of any air.

I agree with Taz2. Especially if there is ANY notchiness in the steering when turning tightly at slow speed.

The manuals recommend 3 to 5 turns lock-to-lock (but only just touching full lock either side) to bleed the power steering system.
