i just found myself asking this question.
i have some money to spend, but wondered "with the way fuel prices, oil reserves, alternate fuels etc are going, is it worth investing (or wasting) money on my car, when it will be a weekend only, show and event car.

what if i spend $25,000 on my VN, and in a few years it becomes unaffordable.
i can see rego etc becoming more expensive for "not so efficient" cars in the near future, to force us into hybrid, electric, fuel cell, air cars etc.

so should i spend my money on a ground up rebuild/modification frenzy, or save it for a rainy day?

your thoughts?

If you don't do something because further down the track it "may" become obsolete, out of fashion, undesireable, a financial disaster etc....then you would have a very non productive boring life filled with constant worry.

i see spending money on my car as investing in driving pleasure.
i just though "what if they ban V8's" or something soon.
then i legally or maybe financially cant get my moneys wort

Why would you waste the money on a VN? Sorry if its your dream car or whatever but in my eyes VNs are not worth the time and the money.

theres one thing for sure, petrol prices are never gonna be below $1 a litre ever again, we are gonna have to accept this, and as far as alternatives to petrol, there arent going to be that many in the near future
