Can someone give me some directions on opening it up?
If you have made up some sort of release tool in the past some measurements or description would be awsome.

Just kidding... :-) Where did it snap? Right at the bonnet end, or somewhere in the middle? If it's not at the bonnet end, you may be able to thread the cable down under the car and use a pair of pliers to pull it?

At the bonnet end aye...don't know anyone with similar car...anyone else have any experience with this...dont want to chop it

If it is similar to the HQ, there is a metal flange which the cable passes through and then cable clamps on the other sideto operate. To prevent heathen thieves getting to it, there is a plate in front of and over the mechanism, to stop it being operated

or try the steel wire from a coat hanger.
make sure you lube the mechanisms and cable well when you replace it!

hi

i used a old haksaw blade covered in elec tape to open my HR bonnet
put it in frount of the tab where the cable fits on and leaver it open aginst the locking bolt with the big spring on it hope you can understand what i mean
