G'day All,
I was just wondering how different the couplings are between power and manual steering on the tonner, and if they can be made to fit the other? and if so will it affect the steering ? cheers. Russ.

I swapped mine around and fitted no probs...seemed the same. Only difference is the rods from the coupling to the steering box as I see it.

You sure about that? I was pretty sure the coupling and the shaft to the steering box were different.

Yes, they are different.
The manual steer shaft is all spline and the power steer shaft has a flat section on it as well as spline. They won't interchange. I know, as I have converted my HZ to power steering and had to buy a new coupling.

Hi Guys.

You are both correct.

Yes the couplings are different, the boxes have different splines on the input shaft.

But as Classic Oz Wreck said, he was only talking about the 'rubber/fabric' bit itself.

Nolathane (& others) make a replacem
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0

I just had this vision in my mind that the shaft on the power steering model was thicker and the flange bigger therefore needing a bigger rubber/fabric thing.
But it must have been just a figment of my imagination, much like my imaginery bank balnce bein
