I have read on another forum about Lead Replacement. One guy mentioned that you can use Two Stroke oil instead of spending big bucks on Lead Replacement fluids.

Is this safe?

Thoughts?

Would be more inclined to pay $60 or so and put in a Moreys injection kit the refill only cost about $20 and last 20 or 30,000 and is designed for the job.

i use valvemaster plus octane booster and any of the 95 octane fuels now availble in my hq.i have tried standard unleaded with the valvemaster but seem to get pinging under extreme load but this hasnt been a problem with 95.hope this helps

a lot of guys I know with old holdens run them on premium or 98 octane with less or no pinging.

Yes of course you run it on PULP.

But you still have to add lead replacement for older cars.

My question still stands, is Two Stroke a good lubricant to stop your valves eroding?

Two stroke oil can work, but the stuff you need (high in metal anti-wear additives) is actually more expensive than adding Flashlube or Valvemaster. The cheaper two-stroke oils just won't cut it. You are best off getting flashlube (available in sizes up t

I use premium unleaded with Flash Lube in my GTS and swear by it.

The car loves the fuel even better than the old lead replacement fuel.

Not sure I am doing the right thing then, I use 100ml of flashlube in a tank of ULP for my HZ, but that was passed on from the previous owner, and it is apparant that 2-stroke won't cut it. Does anyone have a better ratio noting that PULP here in Darwin i

Thanks for pointing that out Stephen, But the inspiration came not from goon, but my little brothers Bronco.

Anyone got a better ratio for Flashlube to ULP for a HZ 308?

very sheepishly - never enven thought of that, I threw it out last time I fueled up an dthat was two weeks ago. Going to the workshop tomorrow so I will check.
