Did a V6 conversion on a HX and used the commodore radiator. Just cut the mounts off the commy and either weld or bolt em up to the support panel. Used all the standard mounting clips/rubbers etc. Not sure of the mounts on the newer commodore but the ol

there is no way a standard vt-vx radiator will cope with a 620 hp .
you will need at least a 3row fine fin radiator custom built.

Copper radiators are better than aly ones. aly ones have a reputation for corroding out. Especially in a situation thye were not designed for.also you braze repair a copper radiator you can't do anything with a ally one.

I have a 454 in a HJ and have spent alot of time and effort trying to keep it cool. I dont believe a VT/VX radiator would be any good. I run an alloy radiator, it wont corrode out if you run the proper coolant (VN type onwards). A copper/brass will be jus

Agree on the airflow. Had a metal 5-blade, and it couldn't cope. (shroud not effective). Went to a couple of 10" electrics, and it made the world of difference. The fans bolt right up to the radiator, and boy did they shift some air, and it was all thr

the VX/VT radiator is better than some, but not enough for your application.
you need a big custom Alloy, or even a 3 row desert cooler etc.
the VT/VX is a bit thin for that much HP
get a 4 inch thick alloy 3 row.

I was curious to see if Aussie Desert coolers were any good too BLWNHJ. I had spoken to a few radiator places about there baffle idea and after some derogatory comments about Aussie Desert Coolers, there comment was if the baffle idea was so good why does
