does anyone know a price on a reco turbo 350, for a 308 hq. Mine is R.S.

It will cost you between $400 and $900 to rebuild yours, condition dependant. Try buying a complete late VB or VC 308 Commodore. These had TH350's in them. So did early WB Statesman.

Hey Bryon, Is the TH350 suited to the 253 to if not what would be a good automatic transmission for my 253.

A good auto for a 253 is a Trimatic (technical term TH175). They bolt straight up, don't use a lot of HP to run and can be made VERY tough for not a lot of money.

I second that, especially the later boxes out of the VL 5.0L. To fit a TH350 to your 253 you need to get the block redrilled to suit the gearbox, noting that pre late 1974 blocks can't be redrilled. Redrilling will cost about $150. Other options are a VN

The trimatic automatic trans is a great light weight auto, and can be made very strong.This auto is your best bet. Second hand V8 trimatics are usually no good and worn out. They have big problems with pumps and reverse clutches. If u have one rebuilt and
