Any one installed rarespares sills on a statesman before, as i bought some last week went to put them on today cut off the old ones drilled out the spot welds etc went to put them on and there like 100mm short though the sticker on them says for sedan & statesman hq-wb the new ones are 1660mm off memory and the ones i need need to be 1760mm can any one confirm how long a std sedan sill is?

Statesman sills are definately longer - same length as a wagon.
From memory when we had 2 sets of stainless sill trims, the stato ones were about 4" longer than the prems, which is around the 100mm you are missing.
I'd simply return them to rare spa |

Agreed with above. HOWEVER.... I got a set of them for my UC when i had it resprayed and they are about 1 1/2" too short... Its a sedan and they were ordered through the paint shop... Now i am left with 1 1/2" of nothing! Keith

The Statesman, wagon, ute and van wheelbases are the same in a HQ-HZ. The odd ones out are the tonner (longer) and the sedan (shorter). The sills you have are sedan. As per Mick's reply you need Statesman or Wagon sills. Take them back. Give Greg |

I bought a rust repair section from rare spares a few years back for a HX sedan lower qtr panel and ended up taking it back. Would have needed as much rework to put the wheel arch bead into it and make it fit as it would have taken to make a panel from s |

Well the boys at rarespares in were less then help full i went in stated that they have given me the wrong sills as there to short for a statesman i get told well we've never had a problem before, he then rings up over the eastern states where apparently

I just checked the RSP website. They list sills under the GM part numbers of 2809813 and 2809814 (Left and right). These are the sills for 69 body styles (sedan and statesman) for N, P and Q ie Kingswood, Premier and GTS only. The Statesman part numbers a |

Hey Les yeah i got in contact with him the rp103t and rp102t whilst being long enough they are just straight metal where as the parts on mine that were beyong repair were the half circle bit where the jack go's and the angular peice that lines up with the

Just thought I'd put in a few experiences with Rare Spares replacement sections. When I was doing up an XA Fairmont, I used one of there lower door sections, it was 15mm to short. i bought HQ ute rear quarter repair sections, the quality of the pressing is pretty shocking, i spent 2 or 3 hours cuting, welding and filing them just to get rid of the overlapped metal, i gave up using them before trying to put some shape into them. i w

i'm just gonna add that i find the rare spares website quite difficult to use, many items not having enough detail/description to know which part is the exact one you need, and far too many cross-referenced items. but i have been buying bits by mailorder
