were does an oil pressure gauge tube screw into on a 253 ? cheers

There should be a fitting on the top of the oil pump, which is the bit the oil filter screws on to.

Just be careful how big the sender unti is, mine barely clears the alternator.

It sounds like you are talking about a mechanical oil pressure gauge as you mentioned a tube.

The Holden V8's run an electrical gauge which uses a sender unit to run the gauge.
Mechanical type gauges are the type that use an actual oil line plumbed to
