I have never busted a 10 bolt in my life, i change oil as soon as i get them, how many don't???
i think they are ok up to 400 HP.
A good HK subframe in WA would pull $500 easy. - add that into the wrecking equation of HK prem.

Luke,
Don't take this the wrong way, I know all too well just what a 10 Bolt will put up with.
I don't often brag about this, but 20 plus years ago - I owned and raced a HK Monaro with a Blown 327 small block. The car was putting out in excess of 5

I reckon if you were giving a full weight car(HQ-HG etc) a hard time, drag racing etc, that 350 HP would be stretching the friendship. I sure some people will argue this and I know people have run more HP and got away with it, but I'm talking about reli

I have seen a few cars smack the wall after an axle breakage as well. Its all over very fast. Normally costing a lot to fix. I have seen a lot of snapped and twisted axles normally it is at the splined end but I have seen 10 bolt axles that were split len Edited by user Thursday, 6 September 2007 7:27:27 AM(UTC)

Hi all I think GM made 3 or 4 10 bolts diffs some axles bigger in dia. ring gears are 7 1/2 and 8 1/2 inch dia. I have a 10 bolt 2.56:1 out of 454 C10 ute. some may hold up better. Tony

My 10 bolt when I bought it supposedly had 12 bolt axles in it. Is that a common conversion and would that be a way to make 10 bolts stronger?

i only know of 2. 10 bolt diffs. 1.HK-T-G. the 2ED HQ on. the one tonne has thicker axles. 10 bolt are rated at 4000 ft/lb. DANA 44 is 4400 ft/lb. DANA 60 at 7000 ft/lb. the bango is rubbish, it is a 8 bolt in a salisbury form, with fine spline axles.
