I have a powerglide and a trimatic floorshifter for HK and HG. I need to sell one to recoup some costs. The HK will initially have a powerglide installed but will probably upgrade to T350 some time later. Should I sell the Glide shifter and will the 3spd one adapt easily enough to the 2 speed or should I keep the powerglide shifter and sell the tri? What would you do? They are both in good condition

Confused and Undecided

You really need the powerglide one for the powerglide and the trimatic one for the TH350. The trimatic one should operate the powerglide though.

Watching the prices on ebay, the trimatic shifter should sell for more than the powerglide as I believe they are rarer, however this will see you in strife when you want to go to a 3 speed transmission later on.

I would personally hold off and save a f

The powerglide shift pushes forward when you push the lever forward and trimatic pushes rearward when you push forward, therefore you cannot adapt the powerglide to trimatic.

Not sure about the adapting to turbo 350.

i agree with what munromad says. rare parts are easy to sell, not so easy to buy.
