Hi

Advice Please

It it easy to put a red motor in FX ute

what modifications are need

I already have a red gearbox connected by adapter plate to a grey engine in my fx ute and now want to pur a red motor in

do ineed an engineers certificate

any advice apreciated

It depends on what state as to what rules you have to follow.

The usual way is to fit a HR front end and move the engine mounts to suit the gearbox crossmember.

If you fit a 138 or 149 red motor you will be fine as far as I know!

Go and find a 138 red motor. I don't think you have to Engineer these. I think in NSW you can get away with a 149 also.
You'll need side mounts, but Rare Spares sell either mounts to weld on or x-change crossmembers with the mounts already on.

what state? a trip to their website will help.

Hi State is Victoria. Tare (kerb) weight is 2230lb (1012kg)
