Having problems with my VS Calais supercharged V6. Every now and then it will lose all power above 4,000 revs. Just has no power and wont rev any higher. Figured that the ECM is seeing a problem and pulling all the timing out. The problem is intermittent, but when it happens and I check the ECM for trouble codes, I'm getting code 46 and 47 which seem to be primarly related to the ignition control module. I pulled the module today and cleaned all the crap off it, also cleaned the coil packs and check the plug to the crank sensor. Will see how it goes in the next few days, and advise or tips on finding this fault?

Car seemed good today after cleaning and re-seating all the connectors etc. Only did the run to school though to pick up the young bloke and to the shops. Will see how it goes tomorrow on the run to work, the fault is very intermittent!

Not 100% sure which V6 it relates too, but some have a problem with the bit the coilpacks mount to cracking and causing ignition trouble. It may be worth checking that out.
Cheers...Dave

Car played up again today, it's a 96 VS Calais supercharged. Yeah I'm thinking the ignition module from the codes and info in the manual, that's the flat part under the coil packs that the coils plug into. Think I'll try replacing it, any ideas where to g

That's what it is called...I had a mental block on the name of it last night :-) AFAIK, they are still available new. Get a price from a couple of Holden Dealers as their prices DO vary (sometimes by quite a lot) and also try REPCO or Coventrys (if you Edited by user Friday, 30 March 2007 11:01:28 AM(UTC)
