can 461 fuellie heads be used on 307 block ? bore will be +60 thou

yes you can,if valves are 1.94/1.5,valve lift not to high,post up cam details,for me,cheers dave

thanks dave don`t have cam yet just looking at different options for rebuild, think i might throw a pair of alloys on. jayson

do you have a definate plan on directon of end use of engine.give me some sort of parameters and, i may be of assistance,vehicle intenton,auto,man,diff gears, street/strip or street only,cheers dave.

Last time I looked at a pair of 461's they had 1.5 exhaust valves, "maybe I'm wrong" but I've never seen that combination before. They are an old casting though - 1967-68

oz chev your probably right,but over the years wear and tear takes its toll,2.02/1.6 are sometimes upgraded to due seat wear etc,i have 2 sets of 291 casting heads(1 set straight2.02/1.6,,1 set angle plug,this particular set was modified for a class racer

thanks dave, as i said just looking at options at the moment but any help is appreciated.
mate basicaly looking at a weekend cruiser with a good bit of poke when you hit the go peddle. currently bore is +40 with what i would guess is stage 1/2 cam (as i

engine runs ok, but blows a bit of smoke (especially when you put your foot down)& very heavy on fuel,no. 2 plug keeps fouling. recently had the heads off (over heating problem) & the top of no.2 piston didn`t look too healthy.there are 2 areas with scoll
