i know how to get 12 volts to the coil useing the yellow wire from the ignition switch but do i line up the reluctor bumps in the same spot as the points dizzy ? ps and to use the right coil cheers

Yes, that's how you get is close enough to start, but to get it spot-on you will need to use a timing light.
