Hi all,
Always the way when you buy a 'new' car there's going to be a few surprises! Was looking under my HZ stato and noticed green fluid on the sump, mmm I thought. Crawled under further and the welsh plugs are weeping, ie the two large ones towards the rear of the engine on both sides. Now they look as if I could change these with the motor still in place (albeit removing the starter on one side and the exhaust pipes also). Has anyone done this before, I've only ever done them on a red 6, V8 ones are new to me. Also what have people found the best for getting them out? I know using a suitable size socket was a good way to put the new ones back in, is that still recommended? Thanks in advance.

Also are they 1-5/8 inch, I have a few of these at home so if they're the right size I may as well use them! Ta

Blade just about covered how I've done them. Often also heard of people using loctite or sealant on the new ones too. If those ones are corroded there is a good chance all the others are too.
