Both will go in no dramas, but I would recommend the windsor for more room.

you may need to slightly modify the fire wall to stop the engine from hitting it when you excellerate but other then that is pretty straight
forward

I maybe wrong but I thought the XF engine bay would be identical to the XE and XD which both came out of the factory with Clevos in them, no dramas.

No for some reason Ford changed the firewall slightly on the XF where the heater hoses poke through (they sort of put a bulge in it). I think it was to allow for more room under the dash for a bigger heater core.
