Hi all,
After a thorough inspection of my HZ statesman it seems the welch plugs at the back of the motor are leaking too (green fluid coming out of the bellhousing dust cover gave me that clue!). OK I'm assuming this means engine and tranny out to do properly, however has anyone successfully done these ones by just removing the tranny (T400)? The engine was rebuilt 35000kms ago but it appears they didn't change the welch plugs at this time (just crazy). Anyway any suggestions would be appreciated.
Ta
Peter

Hi peter.
You can just remove the TH400, but you will only gain access to the 4 welsh plugs on the back of the block.
I would pull the whole engine & 'box & replace all the plugs. Otherwise you will be in the same boat next time one of the remaining |
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0 |

you can pull the box but it's a pain in the arse and you cannot get at the plugs very easily in the long run better to pull the motor and box. don't forget to drain the gearbox oil so you don't drip it everywhere out of the rear extension
