I'm not trying to argue with you Byron, what i have read so far on this forum from you is very interesting, heck you know more than i do! but this HP308 block is a lot heavier, thicker cast webs than a F5000/L34 block, i should know cause seen both of the

It may be an aftermarket block, or some sort of special built by Repco? All I can tell you is that the original 308's had HP on the side, and they are identical to the early 308 blocks. I've seen plenty of them. I conversed with Ben Stewart about this a w
