Is there a difference in the 6 cyl &8 cyl tacho. If so can the 6 cyl be made to work on an 8 cyl motor.

The HK GTS tacho is a standard tacho that has a switch for 6/8/12 cylinders, they are marked as 6 and V8 on the bottom plate but just pull the tacho out and change the switch.

When the HK parts catalogue listed 2 different part numbers I presumed they would be different. Any reason they list 1 part number for the 161/186 and 1 for the 307/327. Thanks for the info Warren and Cloudy. Cheers.

So that you do not have to pull it apart to change the setting, as they come in the boot, so easentially sealed. The plate on the bottom has a 6 or 8 stamped on it.
If you go through the parts book you will find that the boot is not sold seperately, it
