Hi folks, i have a problem... my 186 will not idle properly ..its running on gas at the moment.. is there a way that i can adjust the idle / gas mixture ? I have a spudded stromberg and the car runs fine down the hi way ... i am assuming that it is too lean in its idle circuit / mixture? I dont really know... what does the metal restrictor in the main gas line from convertor do ?

HI, bang bang the screw type restrictor in the line from the convertor to the mixer is the main power valve,like a tap controls the gas flow, if you can get it to run at about 3000rpm wind it out till the rpm increases then turn it back a few turns, you c

I too reciently have the same issue on a Gas powered VK 202. It idles like a dog and lacks power. I pulled one lead off at a time (trying to isolate a cylinder) but it makes no difference to the car.
Changed plugs, dizzy cap, leads and al

I had the same issue with a 308 on gas - the system was stifling any air flow and it ran like a piece of crap. Solved the problem by getting rid of the gas and going to straight petrol. Runs much better :-)

Check the hose integrity between the mixer and vapouriser and also diapham in mixer as vacuum drives these and small leaks at low rpms can cause mayhem. Thats the beauty of dual fuel as most everything complex can be eliminated by the car running good on
