As the title, Im after some help with the accelerator setup on a 350 Holley. The carby will be going on my red 202 but I don't understand is how the accelerator linkage works. The choke I understand how to fit but if anyone has some pics they could show me on how the accelerator works that would be great as a search on the net doesn't wield detailed enough pictures.
Do I need some kind of bracket to fit to the holley or somewhere else?

Hi Josh,
You haven't said what car this Holley is going into...????
If it is the old linkage set up (eg. LC Torana, HQ 6cyl) then you need to make a bracket the same as the HQ Holden V8 bracket. It changes the "twisting" motion into a "push/pull" mo

Sorry the car is a 75 HJ Holden with the original 6 cylinder. All the accelerator cable is, is a single pull wire. I might need to take you up on the bracket offer but where does that then mount to the car?

Just use a V8 accelerator cable and youll need a bracket off the carby base to support the cable end.

Hi Josh,
Ahhh... A HJ Holden..
All you gotta do is replace the 6 cylinder cable with a V8 cable.
The V8 cable is longer so you can loop the cable around the front or back of the motor to reach the Holley.
And a bracket to hold the cable in pla

Thanks for the offer Luke but there is a holden wreckers just around the corner.
I ended up getting a V8 accelerator cable, which is longer than the 6 cable and a bracket. Two Problems:
1/ Where do I fit the bracket? 2/ The accelerator cable has th

Take your V8 accer. cable with you to speed shop so you get the right size ball for it.
Being a Bogan is finally paying dividends. |
Old holdens brought on the spot, quick decision, cash paid. |

No, as all HG had a linkage setup like a HQ. You have to either stuff around with the linkages or retrofit a HJ-WB pedal and cable.

Cheers Byron, How much drama is the linkages stuff around? I had a mate (in East Timor at the moment) rig a simple set-up on his HG ute, but it was on the more temp side of things. As you can imagine we like to keep the costs down and putting in new ped |
