Hi i have a 202 with tripple sus.....
I want to remove these and run the standard Blue manifold and use a conventional carby and run gas on it...
I have found a manifold, now i just need a carby...
Which one should i use, its going to be in a HT Prem Trimatic Hi Way driver... just concerned with a standard performance type carby..
I have been told the Variax isnt too good?? I am only going to run gas, so can this carby be spudded ? Or do i need to find the gas top air cleaner?
Will this type of carby fit up with the cable linkage ?
Or, do i buy a holley adaptor and run a 350?
I also have been told the xf carby is good.... if so ,is there an adaptor available for the blue carby....looking for the cheap way out :)
Thanks very much...

When on gas, the carby becomes a throttle body. The fuel is dispensed by the mixer. I ran a 202 with a Holley 350, and it was a good throttlebody. I also had a 253 with a flogged out Rochester that was great as a gas throttlebody, but needed a full reco t

I think the Varijet would be a better option on gas than a 350 Holley.
Remember, simular internals to Q-Jet, tune accordingly.

also bigger CFM
Varijet 1 - 375 CFM
Varijet 11 - 398 CFM.

my 253 runs gas, I have a 2 barrel stromberg pre immision carby and it runs well, the guy who rebuilt it said they were good for gas as they are a simple design.

Would it be a fair comment to say the best performance Gas technology comes out of Victoria????

Well down in Vic there are so many cars running LPG that you would be hard pressed to find a service station that dost sell auto LPG so yes most LPG gear comes from VIC. I was a bit dismayed when I moved back to Canbera from Albury & found that not all se

Jim is spot on... a vk efi manifold is by far the best manifold for straigt gas(without spending heaps of cash) and then you just bolt a gas research carby straight on to original throttlebody location. Gas convertor then bolts neatly on to the existing

Hey fellas,
Does anyone know any manufacturers who make 3.3 blue manifolds to suit tripple SU carbs "HS6 Type". I've tried redline, but to no avail.

I dont think you can buy a triple carb manifold for a blue motor. In fact there are bugger all manifolds to suit. In reality though, youll not gain all that much by using a blue head with triple SUs or Strombergs, so you might find it easier to use
