Hi all,
Im pretty sure I know the answer to this one but I just wanted to double check it by running it past you guys as I don't like giving out dodgy information.
I have been chatting to someone recently who has just bought a HQ GTS coupe that has been fitted with a HJ GTS dash and he want's to return it to original.
To fit a HJ dash to a HQ I believe you have to cut out the HQ dash frame and weld in the HJ sheet metal and vice versa to revert the dash to original.
Is this correct?
I told him what I believed to be true yet today he says that several other people have told him that it is just a simple bolt in job.
I've got photo's of both my HJ GTS and HQ GTS with the dashes stripped bare and it definitely looks like a cut and shut job will be required.
Am I correct? Qute - I'm pretty sure you've tackled this job haven't you?
regards Darren

hey dude its a bolt in job take the dash out you need plenty of room so coloum out as well behind the dash is an alloy frame that unbolts its a bit of a pain but just change the HJ frame with a HQ frame and every thing should go back together fine |

hmm dont think that it totaly correct?
i thought the hq framework (spot welded to the dash) is diferent to the hj etc dash. you may have to cut out a pannel from a q and weld it in.
not 100% sure. |

Thanks Paul. I have photos of my HJ GTS and HQ GTS dashes stripped to the bare bones and the whole structure in completely different. I can see why this guy was given conflicting information now though. No one seems to know. :-) Heres the photo Edited by user Sunday, 2 September 2007 5:58:12 AM(UTC)
