in what model holden did they first use alloy bridges on the rockers ? cheers

HI John.
HT 253/308 was the first Holden engine to use alloy rocker bridges. HQ 173/202 was the first 6.

thanks dr terry can you put 173 202 alloy bridge rockers on a 186 head its just that i have a 12 port head of a 186 and the 202 rockers easier to set if not no drama just a thought cheers

The only difference between a 186 and a 202 head is the rockers...If you were close by i could swap you a 202 head for your 186 head.

You can put the later rockers on an early head. You just have to buy the kit to do it, but im not sure if anyone still makes them.

Terry is correct. Where the head is used to set the compression ratio, the small chamber is off the high compression variation, and the big chamber off the low compression variation. This only applies to some engines though, like the 173 (I think this is |
