I have been looking at ebay and am a little perplexed as to Item number: 260160529295. This is supposedly an original HQ 350 coupe. The plates look original enough and the rivets look untouched. The car has just hit $30,000 and is attracting alot of interest including me. I posted a comment in another topic but as this is an export car I reckon it deserves its own topic. The car has the ID plate and Vin plate but no Compliance plate which is fine cause its an export and wouldnt need Aussie compliance. The car was manufactured in sydney as he states with -S in the body number and on the firewall, should these match?. What makes me a little suprised is that it doesn't have the chassis number near the steering box, I thought they all had a chassis number. Does anyone know anything about the HQ 350 coupe export cars? Checked out the paint code, looks to be Lina Mint. Maybe Warren, you know, about the exports, how many were sent to NZ, Were they all from Sydney or just from any factory? Is this car for real or just a fake trying to scam some money? Thinking of bidding on it but I need more info first and can't get much info on the export models over the net. Are they as good? What do you think its worth? Any info guy's? He is right when he says they don't come up very often but how can you be sure that this is real? He won't give up the numbers and I don't blame him. Any comments?

Ian,
Seems strange he doesn't want to show the Body number on the build plate. Why so secretive on that? Export models were built in many Holden assembly plants, not just in Australia, but also in South Africa. Basically they had options not found on

Thanks ozchevy, I new they sent them to South Africa but I had no idea they went to the Americas and Trinidad. Is it true the export models were welded together over in South Africa. I guess it must have been like a flat pack type arrangement just put tog

You are right re the compliance plate, only on local cars. The chassis number is also an interesting one, I know in NZ they do not use chassis numbers, well pretty sure as a fellow years ago was telling me, so no need to stamp one.
The reason for not s

Ian,
Mine has the same Plates as the auctioned Monaro, (just different numbers obviously) but also now has a Queensland Traffic Compliance plate, as you say Export model did not have any need for compliance plates to be fitted.
There is a very good

Thanks for the feedback guys. Warren, you say that the firewall stamp is irrelevant to the HQ. I thought that only the Sydney Cars had this Stamping or am I wrong. Was this a carry on from the earlier model HK/T/G Monaros? Should this number match the

I know of another 6/71 export Statesman. It had no ADR tag, no QUxxxxx part of the engine number and no chassis number form memory. Very original.

Hi Guys.
I notice that these cars are loosely being referred to as export Chev Statesmans. Im not 100 % sure but I dont think they were badged Chev Statesmans.
We exported these cars as Holden Statesmans, Chevrolet Constantia and Chevrolet Caprice, |

Ian,
1) As i said the firewall number is irrelevent, therefore no match to the body number on the body ID tag. It also has nothing to do with chassis number as we know it i Australia. Not all cars have it either. So as I said irrelevent, disregard this

Thanks Guys for your feedback. This is no doubt an interesting car. I to agree that the plates look like they have never been off the car and are original as are the rivets. Looking at the VIN and ID plates you can see remnants of a Green Colour around
