1864 is Covert Metallic.
38X is Doeskin and Chestnut Vinyl.

Post the Model No or the VIN (skinny plate) if you want to check if GTS.

HQ80469 is a Kingswood V8 Sedan which is what the GTS 4 door was based on and should have option XV4.
For late 73 HQ GTS the VIN should be 8Q69(R, T or U)D.....Q.
Also check the tyre placard as 14 x 6 Wheels were standard on GTS ie, no other wheel size

You only have to be in front at the end of the race.

It is a GTS.

Early HQ GTS sedans only have the Kingswood model code (80469) and can only be identified by the trim code (W, X, Y or Z)

Later ones started using the 8Q69 designation.

Yours is a GTS.

tom the 5th letter is the engine code r = 253 t = 308 u = 350, d is year follows U.S. where a model year begins on 1st Sept and the j should be followed by a 3 or 4 to designate the plant which in this case is dandenong H1-4 is Brisbane H5-9 is Sydney J

As posted above the second letter of the VIN is the trim code, Q=GTS, S=Statesman, T=Caprice, P=Premier or LS, N=Kingswood and M=Belmont. D is the model year for Sep 1 73 to 31 Aug 74, I have a August 74 car and has the D year code, this is only for the n

No the second letter of the VIN is not the trim code. It designates the luxury level.

The trim code is what gives it away as being a GTS.

The trim codes of W, X, Y or Z is only used on the GTS.

The vehicle is a GTS.

What is all the confusio

I use the term "Trim" as most people understand that a Kingswood has better or different trim than a Belmont etc. I hope this clarifies the situation. There are other items other than trim or luxury that are different between say a Belmont and a Statesman

You only have to be in front at the end of the race.
