have recently had engine and box out and all back in no worries. goes OK but I think I may have some oil on the clutch. this is based on my speedo and tacho not showing what they should according to my calculations(based on tyre size, gear and diff ratio etc). it seems to be sowing about 70 where it should be 80 more when under load (hills). also of concern is oil. I took the front and back of the gearbox off and put some silcone on the gaskets to slow the leaks down. didnt work but now there is a lot of oil around the bellhousing all around the back where it meets the gearbox. also some (it seems) on top of the bellhousing but not coming from the engine. its hard to see coz the engine (pre cross ford 250) is tucked in a transit van. wondering if anyone knows how to eliminate some issues before getting in and pulling the box and clutch out. thought maybe the brether tube (if it has one) could be an issue. |

What gearbox are you running? In regards to your speedo being out what profile wheels and tyres are you running and what diff centre? You can get different speedo cables for different diff ratios so you might be running the wrong one.

From memory there should be a breather tube somewhere on the borgy. If it's blocked or damaged you will get overpressure and oil spilling everywhere. Why are you reversing hard anyway?
Can't help you with the speedo. Speedos from that era are not k
