Hi guys,
Can someone tell me if an HJ-HZ V8 brake booster will fit a HQ V8 with Girlock master cylinder and Girlock front calipers with drums on rear. I've heard only the HQ booster will go back and no others is suitable. Is this correct?

AFAIK all boosters are the same wrt 6cyl or V8, except HZ disc/disc type. I think the only difference is bent or straight pushrod, depending upon the brake pedal. If you are stuck change pedals. I'm sure if i'm wrong someone will confirm.

HQ has the bent pushrod and the later ones wont fit properly. dont know if you can change pedals. 6 and 8 boosters are the same except the disk/disk ones which are dual diaphragm.

Ok,
John - that been the case, re: (bent pushrod) is it possible to bend the rod from a unit out of an HJ Booster, or is the rod a completely different length?
Reason I'm asking is I know a guy with a recond booster who is asking only $40.00 complete w

The end of the pushrod is a flat tab, so it won't bend very easily. Just use a HJ pedal. It will bolt straight in. From memory the only difference is the location of the hole for the pin that attaches it to the brake booster pushrod. The only thing about

Id use a manual pedal anyway even on an auto. It makes it easier to get your feet into the car especially with steel capped boots on.
