Hi Adam
If it really was an HDT Calais it wouldn't have a VIN beginning with 8K19T2U.......
A 308 VK Calais made in 11/84, should read 8X19TE......
It could be still an HDT, it's just that it's an Executive base not a Calais.

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0 |

11/84 with the number 915743 would be a J tag, not an L tag (they were in the L1xx range)
Straight away that says it's not a calais, as all calais were built in Elizabeth.
I went through Chris Sewell's "HDT build numbers bible" from J905xxx to J930x |

8K19T = K gives it as SL (or SS, or exec - they were K based trim levels). The T denotes 5.0L (308) V8.
So it is a V8, but not a Calais.
