please help i am about to look at a hq 2door monaro in the country some 6 hour drive. have only fax of last rego. year 1974 eng;ko224cnv chassis no;chq28984b can anybody help with info or best guess ?

you need the numbers from the id plates, model# trim# paint # all the numbers and letters from the skinny id tag , all these numbers will help ID the car. all the chassis # tells you really is that it was made in Brisbane. the engine # is bizzare must h

greg, cloudy is right get the all numbers on all 3 tags and someone will decpher them for you...
the chassis number should match the the number on the compliance plate located on the drivers side....
the engine number should start with QT for a 308 |

You might be lucky. K0224 is a McKinnon (Canada) plant small block Chev, assembled on 24/2/??. It may be a genuine 350 HQ but the QUxxxxx bit hasn't been recorded. It could also be an export coupe where the Holden engine number portion is missing. It coul |

Looking at the suffix, cnv......it would have to be an imported Chev engine(not by Holden).

Yes, but very likely whomever wrote the engine number down for rego got it wrong. Just about every second Holden I have ever bought registered that has been re-registered or had an engine swap have mistakes. Like OT instead of QT, QI instead of QL (often |
