Thank's byron. so it's a fact that, 308 hp blocks have, 308 on the crank. not hp on the crank. mine being the exeption to the rule. my block date coad was E189 18/5/69. I have seen a E199 on e bay. i thought it was wrong seeing 7/7/69 as being regared as

I've never seen an early 308 engine with HP on the crank, only 308. But I haven't seen too many. Remember that HP didn't change to 308 on the side of the blocks overnight either. I reckon that they waited for the original moulds to wear out before it got |

But without dissassembling an engine, just because it has HP on the side gives no proof of crank type? Yeah? |

I have a report of a J269, 26/sep/1969, with a 308 casting on the block. any one got a date past this date with V8, HP block.
