Just heard a story that the Police up in Toowomaba put a heap of cars off the road after a show recently. Apparently they waited till the show finished and then pulled over everyone as they were leaving. Has anyone here heard anything about it as I think that if this becomes the norm nobody is going to enter their car into shows anymore and a lot of charities are going to go without a lot a money as most of the proceeds from these events go to charity.

We have a monthly show down here in Vic and the cops smoke everyone as they leave as well. It seems a typical extension of the hoon laws, in the way that if you have a nice car then you are a hoon. And Fred....... It really doesnt matter if your car is leg

The authorities attend these venues so they can nail all the enthusiasts in one go.They do it quite often at most motor sport events, its nothing new.I used to cop it 35 years ago just like "Afraid To Speak Bear",and I was driving a 4cyl torana.
Cheers.

afraid to speak,

They aren't targeting the show, they might be checking cars there but that is what they do, they do the same thing every day all over the country. If you saw a cop driving along your street would you say they are targeting crime in you

yes michael,
in the dry, they should have slicks, and then stop and change with a few drops of rain,,, because it is safer!! that is why they do it in races!!!
off course ordinary driver,s cant do this, so they have tyres with tread,s in case it rains!
