Good afternoon all,

I have just registered on this forum, and have been rebuilding a 68 HK Premier for the last 2 years. I have tried to search for an answer to my question on this forum before, but to no avail. My cars trim code is 1217 - 18R, is this 'Buckskin Beige', what is the combo ?

1217 is the external paint colour, not sure what it is. 18 is Buckskin Beige, not sure if R is plain vinyl or an insert.

The number on the next 2 lines will be the paint codes, may only have 1 code, as a rough idea what colour do you think the car was originally and was it 2 tone?

1217 is the Holden paint code for Inca Gold with Grecian White roof.
I had a look in my early HK parts catalogue, and it lists 18R as Buckskin Beige Vinyl.

Its the 1472nd HK Premier out of the Elizabeth (Adelaide) plant. Thats about it. HKs are a bit hard to tell much from the numbers, apart from luxury level, paint and trim. You can work out on a Brisbane car if it was manual or auto but not much else.

Thanks mate,

I know it's a relatively early build, as VIN tag is on the sill and larger tag is on the fire wall. Steering box is date coded 10 APRIL 68. There is what appears to be a white code stenciled on the steering column to firewall mo
