i am painting engine bay in black synthetic ennamel what % of thinners should i use thanks

If this is plastic paint (ie DULON) its 1:1.5 (paint:thinners) as a good start point. It is better to test it yourself as air pressure and spray guns may differ. The flow at 1:1.5 is thickish. Maybe try 1:1.8 on a spare panel (ex wreckers) to get the flow

If it is air dry enamel, depending on the brand, gun tip size, air pressure, temperature and finish required, it can be between 10%-30% added thinner. If it is two part enamel, 10% added would be enough, after adding hardener. If it is acrylic, then 100% |
